{Wear This, Not That}

{ Sunnies -  The Row }

{ Top - Phillip Lim }

{ Trousers - Milly }

{ Cuff - Lanvin }

{ Platforms - Marc Jacobs }
Last night I attended a student showcase fashion show. Firstly- I had an excellent time and saw some killer collections. Secondly- I realized that people simply DO NOT know how to dress for a fashion show. Believe it or not there are ground rules.
Rule 1: A fashion show is to showcase the designer's work-not the attendees, while you should look your best, you should not be a distraction.
Rule 2: Make sure whatever you wear is properly pressed.
Rule 3: A fashion show is NOTHING like the prom, so wearing a ball gown=OVERKILL.
Rule 4: Ball caps, jeans, tee-shirts, hoodies, sneakers...? Should I even have to finish this sentence? Not.Okay.
Rule 5: Dress like yourself. Everyone knows you aren't a character from Sex and The City so no matter how many cosmos you pre-game- you aren't fooling anyone.
It's all pretty simple.
After all the wardrobe confusion I witnessed at last night's event I assembled the idiot proof fashion show outfit shown above.

{Bargain Bender}

(Asos dress)

As I have mentioned before- I have a shopping addiction, let's just say I went on a bit of a 'bender' this weekend. This dress felt soooo Diana Ross/disco I couldn't resist. The best part? I payed UNDER $15 for it.

{Debt Averted}

(Loft blouse, Vintage pants, Nixon Time Teller P watch, Loft camel boots)

 I have been DYING to mimic DVF SS2011 but haven't had a chance to go splurge on this season's brights.  Today I decided rather than give in to my shopping addiction, I would spend some time shopping my own closet. While pulling through my wardrobe I rediscovered some pieces I completely forgot I owned (like these poppy pink pants!). I do however still plan on acquiring some new items. On the list? Yellows, oranges, limes, purples...the works!!

{Easter- in an Eggshell}

{ Venti Cocoa Cappuccino courtesy of my sister }

{ fresh radishes! }

{ Pomegranate Liqueur in a gorgeous bottle! }

{ Are hot wings on Easter Sacrelig? }

{ Revlon Nail Enamel: Lilac Pastelle }

{ A much needed pedicure! }

{ One of my faves! }

I am proud to say I have survived another holiday without gaining a single pound! Although it was tough to resist overeating, my family is known to make quite the feast. My sister and her Fiance joined us for snacks and dinner and brought me my all time fave, cocoa cappuccino from Starbucks as well as an assortment of fruity liqueurs (I snapped a photo of the prettiest one)! After a night of good eats and laughs I camped in front of the tv, treated myself to a mani/pedi and watched an old (but awesome) flick. All in all, I had a superb Easter.

{Day Dream}

I'm not quite sure when the names Audrey Hepburn and Twiggy became the only two names synonymous with fashion.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that they weren't influential or stylish, I just believe that many other stylish people have been overlooked in the meantime. Case in point- Doris Day. Check out: That Touch of MinkThe Glass Bottom BoatPlease Don't Eat the Daisies, or Pillow Talk and see for yourself!

{Crop Top}

I have been growing my hair out for the past year with the goal of reaching what I call "Kardashian length". As summer is approaching and my hair seems to be getting heavier and more dull I am seriously considering cropping it all off. I talked myself out of a bob about a week ago but am now falling in love with the 2011 version of the pixie cut. I adore the idea of keeping a longer fringe because I think it makes the whole look more versatile. While I am still not ready to commit, here are some of the celebrity crops I'm coveting.

{Head Case}

{ Floral Embossed }

{ Oxidized Silver }

{ Day of the Dead Posts }

{ Cream Washed Pendant }

{ Turquoise Washed Ring }

{ Beaded Rosary }

Hello badass biker-esque skull jewelry! A few weeks ago I saw an enormous turquoise skull ring in a local boutique and didn't buy it, I could kick myself. Ever since I have been scouring the web in search of a piece I might love just as much. So far I have found too many to count!

{Holy Stripes!}

This summer I am taking the pledge to dress so girly that it hurts people's eyes. I'm thinking this H&M dress is the perfect way to do it...

{ Barbie dining room? Lovesss it!}

{ Note to self: add tiny pink details to workspace}

I'll admit, today's weather had me feeling a bit uninspired and lagging to say the least. To kill time during this evening's storms I decided pay a long overdue visit to lonnymag (fave!). It's safe to say i've successfully killed my rainy day blues with these obsession worthy designs!
