{ DFWT: backless dress }

You are wearing a backless dress-in.a.bar.
Well... now that I basically know what you look like naked, I guess I should ask your name.

Just because you have a whore flag, doesn't mean you should wave it.

{ Trending: Lace }

Lace tops can sometimes feel a bit old lady. I've seen several adorable versions of this eyelet/crochet/lace trend but none seemed to fit me in an age appropriate way. As usual I pulled inspiration anywhere I could until I finally found the one that worked for me.

{ I'd still love to own this one! }

I went for a flower child-esque lace top from of all places--Pacific.Sunwear. I know right? That just proves you never know until you look.

{ Don't You Know Who I Am? }

How brilliant is this Robert Trachtenberg and Anna Bromilow spread? I have felt so disappointed with so many editorials lately but I caught myself almost drooling at this one. This piece, featured in Tatler's August issue, depicts iconic stars donning the work of some iconic designers. Loving it!!

{trEND It}

What an amazing leather bag!  Oh wait... that's a person. The 'over-tan' is just that--OVER.

Daisy Dukes with heels, it's like a mullet for your legs.

Enough.Already.

Who wears short shorts? ALL THE WRONG PEOPLE.

Did you hear? Nike released an entire line of workout shorts specifically intended for wearing in public but never actually working out in!
...Stop.

{ Meet The Creeper }

{ I am in LOVE with these creepers! }

As if I wasn't obsessed enough with Free People, Bambi Northwood-Blyth had to become the face of their pre-fall campaign. I love the Jane Birkin-meets-Janis Joplin feel of the chunky platforms and exaggerated denim. Bohemian elements of FP's collection are effortlessly contrasted by thick knits and girly frills. This lookbook showcases everything I love about fashion in one store! I can't wait to snag the distressed bone CREEPERS in the 7th photo! Can we say lovers?

{Ixnay}

When you work in a shoe store you encounter many interesting feet, and by interesting I mean ugly.  Unbeknownst to me, talons, are the latest thing.  I have a problem with the fact that women are willing to buy a bigger shoe size JUST to accommodate their claws. Unless your diet consists of mostly field mice I find these unnecessary.

{9-5)

I am a firm believer in the idea that work clothes shouldn't feel like work. A lot of women think that the only way to appear professional is to go buy a matching suit set from The Limited (gag). I don't hate suits but creativity disapears when you purchase matchy matchy garb. The above outfit is work appropriate and won't make you look like Janet Reno. Winner.
