{ MBFW: "We Are So Over!" }

Today marks the eighth and final day of MBFW.
 You know what that means- after the party it's the after party.
And after the party it's ...
only 147 days 'til it happens again.

In the meantime I plan to catch up on all the shows I missed and see a little tent action as well (fashion boner?). I have a very garden-variety approach to playing catch up-- start with the familiar favorites and then move on to other's I usually find fucking.strange. ('The Blonds'...p.s. five or six of your looks were EXACTLEY THE SAME!)

So, in what may or may not be my last gush on shows (I don't make promises) I will start with Rachel Roy.

Rachel Roy Spring 2012 RTW

You can pick your jaw up now.

Naeem Khan Spring 2012 RTW

{ I would marry this }

If you overlook the bizarre faces he made post presentation, Naeem Khan's show was perfection. (Google it, it's pretty silly)

Rachel Zoe Spring 2012 RTW

I am normally super offended when reality stars, actresses, or singers try to force their way into MBFW but Rachel Zoe is the exception (seeing as branching from stylist to designer is not a huge transition). Rachel Zoe shuts shit down, that's all I can say.

{ MBFW: J.Crew 4ever}

Allergy season is upon us and I am writing from bed, cuddled up with my nurse (puppy) and a box of tissues. Did I mention that I am loving how pathetic my life is sounding right now? Not.
Either way the only thing keeping me going (after taking nearly the entire medicine cabinet) are the photos of the J.Crew Spring 2012 RTW show via nymag.

J. Crew Spring 2012 RTW

First of all, I am obsessed with prints. Second, I am even more obsessed with prints on prints on prints!  There are like one million and one different leopard prints in this collection alone. Any nay-saying I've done regarding MBFW up until this point can all be considered bunk now that I have discovered my spring soulmate.  J.Crew NEVER disapoints.

{ MBFW: Or Not }

For the sake of my blood pressure and seemingly happy-go-lucky reputation I am opting out of MBFW coverage for the day. That means I won't mention my extreme chagrin post DVF showcase...oh wait, I just did.
At least I know fall fashion will always turn me on.
My fall fondness lies in my ability to wear anything and everything I want to all at the same time. So what I'm wearing three scarves and two sweaters at once? It's called layering. Duh.
Like every other season, fall has wardrobe staples, mine vary year to year do in part to the Midwest only having two seasons (Sprummer and Finter). Spring typically lasts about three days and fall lasts for about a week at a time, every other week for a month until the ice age hits (confused yet??).
 Fall Five:

{ Chunky sweater }

{ Loud scarf- the louder, the better }

                                   I know "louder" isn't a word. Humor me for like five seconds.

{ Trousers in various obnoxious colors }

{ Chunky socks, because you will always have feet...hopefully }

{ Boots with tread, so you won't slip in public like last year, we still laugh about it }

Hopefully I was just successful in corrupting your next paycheck.
You can thank me later.

{ MBFW: Not a Total Betty, But a Vast Improvement}

I WIN! FINALLY!
just kidding
but seriously...
FINALLY- someone turned on the lights at MBFW, and by "turned on the lights" I really mean, "stopped sucking".  Don't get it twisted girlfriend- I understand high fashion, but sometimes I like to see something mid-grade that I could actually envision myself wearing. Narcissistic? FINE!

Ding! Ding! Ding!
Jill Stuart Spring 2012 RTW

I gave this disgustingly girly (in a good way) collection a good eye fucking once over.  I'm obsessed with the color scheme, the scalloped edges and of course, the boxy silhouettes. Love love love.

Luca Luca Spring 2012 RTW

I lost touch with Luca Luca over the past few seasons. Now I'm forgetting why.  I'm a fool for the striped pants (if you could hear me you'd know I said "stripe-ed" like a person from Europe and/or South America because I think it makes me sound more cultured).  And mark my words... I WILL OWN A FUSCHIA DRESS.

Lyn Devon Spring 2012 RTW

60's ANYTHING makes me all hot and bother. I love a cigarette pant and anything boxy (I'm reiterating but do me a favor: deal with it.)
I'm smitten with the whole damn collection.

So, now you know I'm not a total cynic about all things MBFW.
And the plus is now that I've been visually stimulated you don't have to worry about finding me hanging in my closet (we both know you go in there when I'm at work, and you better give my stuff back).

{ MBFW: You Got It Dude! }

(Technical) Day two of MBFW,
honestly,
all I care about...
The Row.
(WARNING: If anyone tries to deny their love for MK & A. Olsen I will call you a liar, and I don't like liars). My first observation of The Row Spring 2012 RTW show was the complete lack of starving man-faced models, two thumbs up twins! While I understand the choice to present an 100% white washed collection, I feel some design elements got lost on the journey. Layers are more fun when I can tell they exist. Ghosty.
None the less, here are my favorites
The Row Spring 2012 RTW
Can I honestly say The Row was my fave this year? No.
Howevs...
 10 Crosby and Bamboo United 2012 = visual boner.
Take a looksy

{ 10 Crosby }

{ 10 Crosby }

{ 10 Crosby }

{ 10 Crosby )

{ Bamboo United }

{ Bamboo United }

Tomorrow's lineup is exciting but I am still finding the pics from "Fashion's Night Out" more stimulating.
Dazzle me.

{MBFW 2012 Kick Off}

As you can see my schedule has put me on a very long, very unplanned hiatus from writing. Sad face.
However the unplanned mini holiday did give me a lot of ammo inspiration for upcoming posts.
And what kind of girl would I be if I didn't cover MBFW (you betta recognize!)?
(p.s. don't expect me to be fair, I will only be covering designers/ looks I like...or absolutely hate)

Jenni Kayne Spring 2012 RTW

Oh Jenni Jenni Jenni, it's as if you've raided the closet of my mind.  A PINK SHORT SUIT!? I would fuck wear the shit out of that pink suit.  Chambray pants...heather grey...shirtdresses...cable knits- talk dirty to me!

Vena Cava Spring 2012 RTW

I can't pinpoint whether it's the sunnies or the headscarves but something about Vena Cava's latest screams "Roman Holiday".  I'm cool with it. Can we talk about this eggplant dress for a second? 1) Eggplant = big for fall, bigger for spring, 2) A graphic floral print that FINALLY doesn't look like it was an apron in a previous life.
(Disclaimer: Vena Cava did not have a runway show this go around, the featured looks are from the gallery showcase.)

While MBFW is like the Hanukkah of the fashion world, we all know that not everything translates from runway to real way. I am interested in feedback on what and how you will wear SPRING.
